Bully awareness month
October 2-6th_ Bully Awareness Workshops for Grades K-8 Bully Awareness Workshops will be held for all students in all grades to educate them about the harms and dangers that bullying causes, and to show students what they can do to prevent and stop bullying. October 10–13 -Cultural Awareness Week This week we will focus on the variety of cultures at Holy Cross. October 16 – 20 - Stand Up for Others Against Bullying Week This week we will focus on the theme “Friends lead, bullies divide”. Did you know students who experience bullying are more likely to find peer actions more helpful than an educator or self-actions? By teaching children to stand up for one another, they learn to not only help their classmates and the importance of bully prevention, but that they can always turn to their classmates for help and support. October 23 – 27 – Share a Kind Word Week Students will participate in creating posters and creating positive messages . October 30 - Blue Shirt Day to Support Bullying Awareness Students and staff will demonstrate their commitment to ending bullying by wearing either a navy or light blue school uniform polo shirt. With your help, we hope to foster a safe, educational school environment where all students learn of the harms of bullying, and the importance of stopping bullying and supporting its awareness. |
